Out of the Dark, and into the Light by Martha Dodd

“Out of the Dark and Into the Light,” is an original 16 x 20 inch oil painting of a snow white horse stepping out of a mysterious forest into the light. This beautiful painting is oil on panel, and was created in 2019.

“I was visiting 5 time Olympian Christina Stuckelberger in Switzerland. I took a picture of her stallion Ramiros Bube as he stepped out of the barn. He was so beautiful and mystical looking. Therefore,  I had to create this mysterious painting.” Martha Dodd

The artwork depicts a white horse walking forward through a dark, shadowy environment. The horse is centrally positioned and illuminated, creating a strong contrast against the deep, dark background. Its head is slightly lowered with one front leg lifted mid-step, conveying motion and grace. A few green leaves and branches frame the upper left and right corners, providing a subtle natural context. The overall mood of the painting is mysterious and serene, highlighting the horse as the main focus.
