Loyalty Should Be Rewarded, and I Need Your Help.

I believe loyalty should be rewarded, and I need your help.

Hi Everyone,

This post is for other artists, as well as my own clients.

As I sit at my desk in my studio, I have been reflecting on my self-marketing efforts over the past few years. My energies have been directed toward gaining new clients and adding to my email lists. As I had heard, selling art was, in part, a numbers game.

I recently listened to a podcast from “The Inspiration Place” that has changed my way of thinking about how to grow my business. The guest, Jeffery Shaw pointed out that first you have to figure out who your ideal customer is.

“How?” you may ask. It is easier than you think.

Jeffery Shaw explained that we, as artists, should be creating the works of art that we are best at creating. Do you have art that is easy for you, that you would create even if you weren’t getting paid for it? That is most often what we are best at. Do people who buy art from you in the past tell what it is they love about your work? These people provide valuable feedback about what it is that we are best at.  These very people are our ideal customer.  Focus on them. In addition, everyone knows it is easier to keep an existing customer than to gain a new one.

I have decided to remove my annoying “Subscribe now and receive a discount” pop-up.

Instead, I will provide coupon codes to those who have purchased art from me in the past, so that they are rewarded for repeat business.

This is where I need your help. I have been a full time artist since 1987, and have over 500 people on my email list. These people include potential customers as well as those who have bought my art in the past. Some of the contacts only have the email address and not the name of the person. I am trying to go over the list manually to select past customers. It is a slow process to tag each customer on Mail Chimp, as I bounce back and forth between screens, and I am afraid I will miss some of you. I want you to benefit from the exclusive discounts only available to previous customers.

Previous Art Collectors

If you have bought art from me in the past, or commissioned a mural, would you please reach out to me, and let me know what you bought? I will provide a discount for you that you can use any time, and combine with other discounts as they are offered. If you have unsubscribed, please resubscribe, and again, be sure to let me know if you are a loyalty client. Contact me.

As for the Potential Art Collector?

Well, you can wait for a sale to come along, or you can bite the bullet, and buy that first piece. After that, you will have access to the exclusive coupon codes that only loyal customers will receive, and can use over and over again. Start Shopping Now!

Loyalty Should Be Rewarded!

Thanks for reading my blog, and I am looking forward to having a closer relationship to my clients. I am so grateful for your support over the years.

With much love,

Martha
