Martha Dodd: Your Skills, New Medium: Oil Painting for Artists (3-Day workshop)

If you already think like an artist but have never worked with oil paint, this workshop is designed for you. Rather than starting from scratch, we’ll build on the skills you already have—composition, color awareness, mark-making—and translate them into the rich, flexible language of oils.

You’ll learn the essential techniques that make oil painting unique, from layering and blending to understanding drying time and materials, all in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Along the way, we’ll demystify common concerns and help you develop confidence handling this classic medium.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a strong foundation in oil painting and a deeper sense of how your existing artistic voice can evolve through a new medium.
