Hello, and Happy New Year, to all my friends and followers!
This year has been a busy one for Marc and me. We sold our house, traveled from Florida all the way to Beaver Island, Michigan, down to Little Rock, Arkansas, then eastward to Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. We looked at real estate along the way, trying to decide where to finally land.
We are still undecided, and for now back in Florida. We do have a clearer version of what we are looking for, and I’m hopeful that one house in particular will turn out to be the one, if we can work it out.
I wanted to share with you a project that I, and my bff Natasha Russel, completed this fall.
Natasha notified me earlier this summer that the Carolina Horse Park was conducting a fundraiser. This fundraiser involved creating painted horse sculptures that will be auctioned off Saturday, April 6th, 2025. We decided to paint a pony together, on a fiberglass colt that was paid for by sponsors Jim and Pippa Bird.
The 5th Annual Painted Ponies Art Walk & Auction is a public art display of 16 horses and colts. Artists from the area donated their time and talent to turn each pony into a work of art. Local businesses sponsored the ponies and they are displayed in 16 locations along Broad Street in Southern Pines.
Our pony, entitled “Sunrise”, is being displayed in front of the famous Sunrise Theater in Southern Pines.
The Ponies are on display in Southern Pines, North Carolina until April 2. You can enjoy a stroll through town to view the Painted Ponies! Take a photo with your favorite pony and share it on social media with #CHPaintedPonies to introduce family and friends to the newest herd in town.
If you are interested in bidding on any of these ponies, you can sign up at the Event Gives Website! The auction takes place Saturday April 6th.
Happy New Year, my friends!!
Much Love,
Martha and Marc
