Coming Home to Florida
Coming Home to Florida
Marc and I have finally returned to Florida after 3 terrific months in Europe. In case you missed my previous post, I broke my ankle in Rolle, Switzerland. I hobbled around for two weeks thinking it was just a sprain. After much urging from those around me, I finally went to the hospital in Davos. There I learned I had two broken bones, and had to have a cast put on.
That completely changed our summer plans, and we decided to stay put at Marc’s mothers house in Davos until it was time to return. There I painted several paintings, (see below). I also had time to work on my French. (I am terrible, but give me some more time!)
Now That I am Home:
I have projects waiting for me here in Florida: Tomorrow I begin a large mural at The Azure in Bonita Bay, (Bonita Springs, Florida) a 26 story luxury condominium high rise. The mural is 13.5 x 30 feet. Award winning designer Heather Jennings of Norris Furniture brought me on-board for this project. Thank you Heather!
I am excited to announce that the The Hirdie Girdie Gallery on Sanibel Island, Florida has accepted me as a member. They are only open seasonally, from November through March. I couldn’t be more thrilled, and can’t wait to meet all the other artists.
I am still at the DAAS Co-op Gallery in Fort Myers, Florida. In case you didn’t know, they moved the DAAS Gallery to the Butterfly Estates last April. The moved proved to be a success, with more traffic and more fun!
Here are the paintings (some not quite finished) that I did while in Switzerland:
Please be sure and visit my online store if you are interested in purchasing any of these or other originals or reproductions.
Thanks for reading my blog, and I hope you will share it with your friends!
A big hug for everyone,
Martha and Marc
