Hello my dear friends,
What an exhilarating winter season we’ve been having in Florida! The Hirdie Girdie Gallery on Sanibel Island swung its doors open once again in October, along with the ACT Gallery in the heart of Fort Myers. Both have made a remarkable comeback after last season’s hiatus due to Hurricane Ian. The thrill continues as I revel in being the guest artist at the Harbour View Gallery in Cape Coral, not to mention the flurry of inspiring commissioned works that keep my creativity flowing.
Since making Fort Myers my home in 1993, I’ve been privileged to be part of its transformation. Yes, our once quaint town is blossoming into a vibrant city, and I’ve cherished every moment of growth and renewal.
The love my husband and I have for our life here is as warm as the Florida sun. Our summer journeys have not only been adventures of the heart but have opened our eyes to potential new horizons to call home.
Yet, Florida’s charm is undeniable, and our visits during the winter will continue — the friendships we’ve cultivated here and the memories we’ve woven are treasures too precious to leave behind. Marc’s passion for boat work remains undiminished, and my artistic pursuits are as spirited as ever — I’m very much active in the art scene, so do keep me in mind for any new commissioned paintings, faux finishes, or mural projects!
To my delight, wandering the world has become a vessel of inspiration for my artwork. The change of scene strips away the mundane distractions of home life, sharpening my focus and dedication to my craft. I’ve found my recent pieces to be my most compelling work to date. What’s your take on this? In fact, this newfound burst of productivity led to the creation of six sizable and significant paintings just last summer alone.
Sending warmth and creativity your way,
Martha
